Creating a room with primary colors…

As a designer, one of the first things that I was taught was the color wheel.  All of the colors in color theory are produced by first starting with the primary colors of red, blue and yellow and mixing them until the desired color is reached.  This color combination has a history in design which has been relevant  to a lot of different movements.  From the very traditional look, such as country french to the very contemporary DeStijl movement, this color combination has made statements in design throughout history.

When companies like Pierre Deux turned this look commercial all of us were then able to enjoy the primary combination in a very traditional form.  By the blending of regal and rustic details,  enhanced by the peasant farmers’ countryside look in France, the company helped to develop this interior design movement which is now used world wide.  This look incorporates many different patterns which vary in scale and design but repeat the same colors.  The furniture has many Rocco ornamental features, so that the ornate qualities are light- hearted  and elegant thus enhancing the overall design of the interior space. The look, Country French, comes in a number of color combinations, but the most common pairing of this look is the red, blue, and yellow – the primary colors!

De Stijl Movement Interiors

In the realm of design, there was a movement which incorporated the color combination of red, blue, and yellow called the DeStijl Movement.   Influenced by artist and architects of the Dutch period neoplasticism, this look focused on straight lines and color theory placement.

For the average person, this design may be too “artsy chic” for your interior space because it leaves the home feeling cold and uninviting because the interior appears to be too crisp and clean.  But if you are drawn to this design, and would like to create a  room which is influenced by this movement, then a suggestion would be to work your furniture around an artwork which has a resemblance to a Mondrian masterpiece leaving your room feeling soothing yet sophisticated.

  1. You truly make it appear so simple with your presentation but I discover this topic to be really something which I believe I’d never understand. It appears too complicated and extremely broad for me. I am searching forward for your subsequent publish, I’ll attempt to get the hang of it! micro job http://www.sleekservice.com
